People from all across Merseyside came out to show their support for the third Armed Forces Day last weekend.

A service was held at the Anglican cathedral which was attended by over 600 people, including members of the armed forces, who showed their support for the service men and women.

Other events held in the region included a family friendly fundraiser at Prenton Hall Road, which was organised by the parents of Corporal Steven Boote who was killed in Helmand Province in 2009, the event raised a brilliant £2,150 for the charity Help for Heroes.
