Merseyside man, Michael Elliott who is editor of TIME International has landed the job to as president and CEO of One, an anti-poverty charity which was co-founded by the U2 signer.
Mr Elliott who grew up in Bebington, Wirral and is a Liverpool Football Club supporter now lives in New York and was said to be honored and thrilled at joining the organisation.
The charity One encourages governments to help communities in the poorest parts of the world.
